Diomidis Spinellis is a professor in the Department of Management Science and Technology at the Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece. He is the editor in chief of IEEE Software magazine. His research interests include software engineering, computer security, and programming languages. He has written two books – Code Reading and Code Quality – and is coeditor of Beautiful Architecture: Leading Thinkers Reveal the Hidden Beauty in Software Design. Spinellis is a FreeBSD committer and the developer of UMLGraph and other open source software packages, libraries, and tools. He holds an MEng in software engineering and a PhD in computer science, both from Imperial College London. He is a senior member of IEEE and the ACM, as well as a member of the Usenix Association.
