Amey Ambade is a Lead Data Scientist and ML Product Lead with expertise in applied machine learning, language models, computer vision, recommendation systems and large-scale system optimization. He builds production ML systems with particular focus on making AI work in constrained, real-world environments. Amey has authored multiple patents and papers on AI systems and is passionate about the ethical implications of technology use.
He serves on the IEEE AI Standards Committee for Ethics and as the Proceedings Chair for the SciPy conference. He holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in Computer Science from Columbia University and IIT. Outside of engineering, he mentors students transitioning into tech careers and advocates for underrepresented groups in the field. He enjoys soccer, weightlifting, poetry, and cooking.
